Our program supports your child’s first steps into independence with warmth, structure, and joy.

For many families, the 2’s and 3’s are the first time a child experiences a full day of structured learning, social play, and independence. At Jewish Beginnings Lubavitch Preschool in Milwaukee, we’ve designed our 2s and 3s programs to support that big leap with warmth, intention, and age-appropriate care that sets the stage for joyful growth and a smooth journey from preschool to elementary school.
Here’s what makes the Jewish Beginnings program stand out:
Potty Training Support Built Right Into Their Day
We understand that potty training is a big milestone, and our teachers are trained to support this transition gently and consistently. Children are guided throughout the day to use the toilet, learn hygiene routines, and grow in confidence—with calm, encouraging support from our experienced educators.
A Playground Made Just for Them
Outdoor play is a vital part of a young child’s development. That’s why our playground is specifically designed for our little learners. It’s the perfect scale for exploring, climbing, pretending, and taking safe risks while building independence and imagination.
Classrooms That Grow with Them
Our classrooms aren’t just smaller versions of older spaces. They’re thoughtfully designed to reflect the developmental stage of children who are 2 turning 3. Everything from the furniture height to the types of manipulatives available supports independence, movement, and curiosity. For example:
Shelves are placed low so toddlers can make their own choices.
Cozy corners and soft spaces are built in for quiet time and emotional regulation.
Kosher, Nutritious Meals (and Plenty of Them!)
Our in-house kitchen prepares breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack every day—all kosher, nutritious, and designed to support growing bodies and expose children to a variety of flavors and textures.Mealtimes are also social learning moments, encouraging manners, independence, and community.
Social-Emotional Guidance for the Littlest Learners
Conflict resolution in a room full of 2-year-olds might look different than it does in a 3s or K4 classroom—and our teachers are prepared for that. Through modeling, redirection, patient support, and reflection, we help our children begin to understand and label emotions, express themselves, and practice the building blocks of empathy and friendship.
Curriculum with a Purpose
At this age, you may think that it’s “just play”, but every part of our day is intentional. The JB curriculum follows a developmental throughline, meaning we know where your child is now and where they’re going. Our activities build fine and gross motor skills, language, problem-solving, and Jewish values in ways that feel playful, age-appropriate, and rooted in best practice.
Community Partnerships
From Little Light Physical Therapies to yoga, the Urban Ecology Center—and even Betty Brinn Children's Museum in the summer—our thoughtful community partnerships bring the best of Milwaukee directly to our classrooms, enriching learning through hands-on experiences and expert-led programming.
Secular & Jewish Education
Our dual-focus curriculum ensures children explore, discover, and learn through a well-rounded early education that includes both general knowledge and Jewish learning. From hands-on science and creative expression to celebrating Jewish holidays, values, and of course, joyful Shabbat parties, we nurture the whole child.
Inclement Spaces for Wisconsin Winters
Even in the chilliest months, our children have plenty of room to move. Our large motor room and access to a full-size gym ensure that energetic bodies can run, jump, and play year-round, supporting physical development and joyful movement no matter the weather.
Enrichment All Year Long
The JB program is full-day, year-round, and filled with joy. Children experience music, gym, art, yoga-inspired movement, and nature exploration—even at age 2! We partner with trusted organizations like Little Light Physical Therapies and the Urban Ecology Center to keep young minds and bodies engaged with the world around them.
NAEYC Accredited
Jewish Beginnings is proud to be NAEYC-accredited—the gold standard in early childhood education and well beyond regular licensing requirements. This means our classrooms, curriculum, teacher training, and learning environment are held to the highest national, gold-medal standards of quality, safety, and child-centered care.
