Ages 12 Months - 24 Months

Our toddler teachers are caring and nurturing educators who understand and apply early childhood development principles in combination with their knowledge of what is best for each child, based on observations, interactions with the children and discussions with parents. Their goal is to understand and appreciate each child’s unique developmental achievements and challenges, within the context of the toddler group.

At this age children are beginning to acquire language and teachers strive to reinforce this growth. Some of the ways they do this are by encouraging toddlers to express themselves verbally both to adults and other children, reading books with them, and expressing in words the actions and activities that are going on in the room.

This is a time when all skills are growing at an exponential rate. Toddlers use all of their senses to explore the world around them. Teachers help encourage their curiosity by providing a safe, loving, and active learning environment. An emotionally-responsive environment encourages each child to move about freely and explore.
