JB COVID-19 Guidelines

At Jewish Beginnings, we are committed to the health and safety of our families and staff. While nothing is failsafe, we have put additional COVID-19 safety guidelines in place and continue to work diligently to mitigate risk.

We rely on the guidance of the CDC, the North Shore Health Department, and the American Pediatric Association to determine best practices. The following is a list of our current policies to ensure the collective health and safety of our students, staff, and families.

  • Staff undergo daily COVID-19 testing, wear masks in school, and maintain indoor pod discipline.

  • We conduct screenings of all children each day, including temperature checks and a health questionnaire.

  • Enrollment and class size are limited to minimize the possibility of viral exposure.

  • Only essential staff are permitted in the building.

  • HEPA air filters are placed in every classroom and common area.

  • Zono, a disinfecting Ozone cabinet, is used to sanitize toys, mats, cots, blankets, etc., daily.

  • In addition to our daily sanitizing regiment, night crews provide extra deep cleaning services.

  • If a child becomes sick during the school day, parents will be contacted for pickup. Children will await their arrival in a safe space, separate from other children. Please do not give your child a fever reducer before school, as we will ask that they remain home that day.

  • If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID, we will close the pod or school and conduct testing before their safe return to school.

  • Testing also occurs if one experiences symptoms, has had direct contact with a known carrier, or is advised by a medical professional to do so.

  • If positive for COVID-19, call JB at (414) 962-2444 or Devorkie's cell (414) 477-7727 immediately so that we may communicate to parents and close for testing. If this occurs, parents will be notified by email and phone.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child and remaining valued partners during these unprecedented times. We welcome your input and appreciate your respect and adherence to these guidelines so that we may remain open and do what we love - educate your child!
